NAD+ and Healthy Aging: What to Know Before Your First Session
Share
NAD+ has become one of the most requested services on our menu, and it's also one of the most asked-about. What is it? Why does the IV take so long? Is the injection the same thing? Here's a friendly guide from our nurse-led team.
What is NAD+?
NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It's a coenzyme found in every cell in your body, and your cells use it to make energy.
Research suggests NAD+ levels tend to decline with age, which is one reason it gets so much attention in the healthy-aging and longevity world. Scientists are actively studying NAD+, but much of that research is still early, and studies on NAD+ IV therapy specifically are limited.
So we keep it simple and honest: many clients choose NAD+ as part of their healthy-aging routine, and many tell us they enjoy how they feel. Results vary from person to person.
What clients ask us about
⢠Energy. Many clients book NAD+ before a demanding stretch at work or after travel. We can't promise specific results, but we can help you decide whether it fits your goals.
⢠Healthy aging. Many clients choose NAD+ as one part of a bigger routine that includes sleep, movement, nutrition and hydration.
⢠Recovery routines. Some active clients like to include NAD+ alongside their other recovery habits.
We don't offer NAD+ to treat any disease or condition, and it isn't a substitute for care from your own healthcare provider.
NAD+ IV vs. NAD+ injection
We offer NAD+ two ways:
⢠NAD+ IV. A slow infusion with 500 mL saline, NAD+, vitamin C, magnesium, B12 and B complex. Plan on about 2 to 3 hours. It comes in more than one dose, and our nurse helps you choose. See current pricing on our menu.
⢠NAD+ injection. A quick shot given by our nurse after a health screening, from $60 ($54 for members). A good option if you'd like NAD+ but don't have a few hours to spare.
What an NAD+ IV session is like
⢠Screening first. Our nurse reviews your health history, medications and vitals before anything starts.
⢠Settling in. Wear something comfortable and bring water, a snack, headphones or a book. Plenty of clients bring a laptop and get some work done.
⢠Slow and steady. NAD+ is given slowly on purpose. When it runs too fast, some people notice warmth, flushing, an upset stomach, or a tight or pressured feeling in the chest. If you feel anything like that, tell your nurse right away. We can slow the drip, and for many people those feelings ease once the rate is lowered.
⢠Monitoring. Your nurse stays with you and checks in throughout the infusion.
⢠Afterward. Most people go on with their day. Drink water and listen to your body.
Who should talk with us first
NAD+ isn't right for everyone. Please let us know if you're pregnant or nursing, have a heart, kidney or liver condition, or take regular medications. Our nurse and Medical Director may recommend checking with your own healthcare provider before you book.
Mobile or lounge
Mobile appointments are available now at your home, office or hotel across Virginia Beach, so you can relax somewhere familiar during a longer infusion. Ask about NAD+ when you book. Once our Atlantic Park Longevity & Recovery Lounge opens in Winter 2026ā2027, you'll also be able to settle in with us there.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the NAD+ IV take 2 to 3 hours?
NAD+ is infused slowly so you stay comfortable. Your nurse adjusts the rate based on how you feel.
How often do people get NAD+?
It varies. Your nurse will talk through a schedule that fits your goals and health history.
Is the NAD+ injection the same as the IV?
Both contain NAD+, but they're different services. The IV is a longer infusion with added vitamins and minerals; the injection is a quick shot. Your nurse can help you decide which fits your day.
