What Is a HaloSauna? Salt, Infrared Warmth and a 20-Minute Reset

If you've ever taken a slow, deep breath on a breezy morning at the Oceanfront, you already know the feeling we're going for. The HaloSauna brings together two wellness traditions, infrared warmth and dry salt therapy, in one calm, quiet session. Here's what it is, what a session feels like and how to get ready.

What is halotherapy?

Halotherapy, also called dry salt therapy, takes its inspiration from the salt caves of Eastern Europe. In a HaloSauna, pure, medical-grade salt is ground into tiny micro-particles by a machine called a halogenerator. Those dry salt particles are dispersed into the air of an infrared sauna while you relax.

People have enjoyed salt rooms for a long time, but research on halotherapy is still limited. So we keep our promise simple: it's a relaxing, restorative experience, and many clients tell us they leave feeling calm and refreshed. Results vary.

What is infrared warmth?

A traditional sauna heats the air around you. An infrared sauna uses infrared light to warm you more directly, so many people find it feels gentler than a traditional sauna. You still get a good, cozy sweat.

What a session feels like

• Arrive and change. Wear gym clothes or a swimsuit. More skin showing means more contact with the salt.
• Settle in. The HaloSauna comfortably fits two people, so you can go solo or bring someone along with a Companion Pass.
• Relax. Feel the gentle warmth, notice a faint salty taste in the air, and let your mind slow down. Play your own music or a guided meditation on the private Bluetooth speaker.
• Cool down. Step out, sip some water and take a minute before heading back into your day.

Sessions come in 20, 30 and 45 minutes. The 20-minute session is a great first visit or a quick midweek reset. It's long enough to unwind, short enough to fit into a lunch break, and an easy way to see how your body likes the heat before you try a longer session.

Many people like to pair a HaloSauna visit with other services at the lounge, like an IV drip after a quick health screening, a holistic facial or a cold plunge for contrast therapy.

Make it yours with add-ons

• Chromotherapy: soft colored light to set the mood.
• Aromatherapy: soothing essential oil scents.
• Red light therapy during your session.
• Companion Pass: bring a friend or family member.

Tips for your session

• Drink water before and after.
• Skip heavy meals and alcohol beforehand.
• We suggest waiting about 2 hours to shower afterward, so the salt can stay on your skin a little longer.
• Leave jewelry at home, since metal can get warm.
