Lieutenant Commander Bryce E. Yost, USN, (Ret.)

A native of Collegeville, PA, LCDR Yost enlisted as a Sonar Technician (Surface) in July of 2000.  He received his commission ROTC at Old Dominion University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management through the Seaman-to-Admiral 21 program.  In 2017, he earned a Masters of Arts in National Security Studies, Homeland Security and Defense, from the Naval Postgraduate School.

 

LCDR Yost served his enlisted tour onboard USS RAMAGE (DDG-61) as a Sonar Supervisor and AN/SQS-53C technician, completing two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Gulf.  Ashore, he was assigned to the Center for Combat Systems Detachment East, earning designation as a Master Training Specialist and advanced to First Class Petty Officer.

 

His initial commissioned sea tour was aboard USS JASON DUNHAM (DDG-109) as Communications Officer, Electronic Key Management System Custodian, and Auxiliaries Officer. He deployed to the Black Sea to participate in exercise Sea Breeze 12 as Force Communications Officer, and to the Arabian Gulf with the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER Strike Group. 

 

His second Division Officer tour was onboard USS SAN JACINTO (CG-56), serving as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Surface ASW Weapons and Tactics Instructor, Assistant Weapons Officer, and Air Defense Liaison to Commander, Carrier Strike Group Ten. He deployed to the Arabian Gulf with the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN Strike Group, conducting Operation Enduring Freedom.  His Department Head tours were onboard USS STETHEM (DDG-63), serving as Weapons Officer and Plans and Tactics Officer. 

 

Ashore, he served at Surface Warfare Officers School Command in Newport, RI, as the Undersea Warfare staff ASW/SUW Warfare Tactics Instructor for the Maritime Warfare Directorate (N73) and completed several missions for the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center.

 

He retired from active duty on August 18, 2023, following 23 years of service.

 

His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and various other personal, unit, and service awards.
